Biography
Najaf Shah is an associate in our San Francisco office whose practice is concentrated in the areas of cannabis law, commercial litigation, employment law, and trucking and transportation. Prior to joining EGHB, Najaf managed contractual and employment cases from inception to trial, and made court appearances on behalf of clients. In a previous role, she handled corporate immigration compliance matters for Fortune 100 companies.
Najaf earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in May 2019. While a student at USD, she was a member of the Business Law Students Association and Real Estate Lawyers of San Diego. In 2018 Najaf obtained a Lexis Nexis Legal Research Certification, and in 2016 she was granted a Master of Laws degree that she earned with honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She began building her legal resume as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Michael M. Mihm in the United Stated District Court, Central District of Illinois in Peoria. She also worked as a legal intern at Square One Development and the USD Entrepreneurship Clinic. Najaf graduated with honors from University of London International Programs.
She currently serves as vice president of the South Asian Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, and in that role Najaf conducts outreach and manages events to promote South Asian representation in the legal profession. She is fluent in Urdu, and has a fundamental understanding of Arabic and Spanish. Her personal interests include travel, photography, exploring scenic Bay Area locales, enjoying global cuisine, and reading.
