Biography
Reno Cross is an equity partner at Edlin Gallagher Huie + Blum. His practice areas include commercial litigation, product liability litigation, toxic tort litigation, personal injury, general negligence, insurance defense, and trucking and commercial transportation cases.
Reno graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in political science and a B.A. in history. He earned a Master’s degree in finance from Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business and Management and received his law degree from Golden Gate University, School of Law. Reno served as a Certified Law Clerk for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office in 2009. He is admitted to practice before the State Bar of California; the United States District Court for the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern Districts of California; and the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Reno was an investment banker for over fifteen years. As Vice President and Project Manager for the oldest municipal bonds firm in country, Reno was responsible for all areas of corporate management, including cash and portfolio management, personnel, strategic planning and contract negotiation. Reno’s investment banking duties included structuring, sizing, pricing, planning, and negotiation of public works and alternative energy financing. In addition, Reno was responsible for project management, capital budgeting, financial forecasting, feasibility analysis, and oversight of project and client legal teams. This experience makes him particularly effective at helping the firm’s clients find cost-effective approaches to managing cases.
In 1998, Reno ghost wrote the book, How to Pick Large Stocks as part of a financial advisor book series published by Simon and Schuster. Since 2010, Reno has served as a pro bono attorney for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights in San Francisco, focusing on asylum cases to advance the rights of immigrants, refugees, and communities of color. In his free time, Reno enjoys playing competitive tennis, snow skiing, cycling, and scuba diving.
