Biography
In 2013, DT graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in literature. She served as UC Santa Cruz Student Body President, Chair of the USSA National People of Color Student Coalition, and Co-chair of the California Student Association.
DT’s professional experience includes working as a small claims court representative at a personal injury firm, serving as a law clerk at one of the top immigration firms in the world, interning for the Republic of Uganda Judiciary: Anti-Corruption Court, leading plea-bargaining sessions for inmates in Ugandan prisons, and working with refugees and asylum seekers in Washington, DC in the wake of the travel ban. Additionally, DT participated in the AmeriCorps JD program and served as a Legislative Aid for the California State Senate successfully pushing four bills into CA law.
