The San Francisco, California office of Edlin Gallagher Huie + Blum is seeking a skilled Administrative Assistant to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of administrative office or customer service experience, with the ability to type 45 words per minute. Previous experience in a law firm setting is a plus. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills are essential for success in this role.


  • Greet guests and provide a professional first point of contact for the firm.
  • Answer incoming calls and take detailed messages to facilitate effective communication.
  • Manage incoming mail, efaxes, and e-document deliveries, distributing them appropriately.
  • Coordinate meetings, including sending invitations, reserving conference rooms, and arranging for necessary services.
  • Process department mail and track incoming packages, ensuring timely distribution.
  • Update document management systems and assist with administrative projects as needed.
  • Monitor and route electronic mail service folders promptly.
  • Maintain a tidy reception area and assist with overflow work from other assistants.
  • Remain flexible and open to additional tasks or requests as directed by client coordinators.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective communication with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills for timely and accurate task completion.
  • Proficiency with office equipment such as scanners, fax machines, and multi-line phones.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; A.A. or B.A./B.S. degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of office administrative or customer service experience required; experience in a law firm setting is a plus.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as sitting, bending, computer use, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
