SAN FRANCISCO, California, January 18, 2023 — Equity partner Erin K. Poppler has joined the National Association of Women Lawyers (“NAWL”) as a Co-Chair of the organization’s Women in Environmental & Energy Law Affinity Group. Poppler will bring to her role at NAWL more than 12 years of experience as an environmental litigator with a practice that includes formidable courtroom experience as lead counsel in high-stakes multi-party suits involving CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and Proposition 65.
“I am thrilled to become part of this exceptional organization,” said Poppler. “NAWL’s mission of providing leadership, a collective voice, and essential resources to advance women law professionals and advocate for the equality of women under the law is precisely the kind of action we need to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession.”
The National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) is a national voluntary legal professional organization devoted to promoting the interests and progress of women lawyers and women’s legal rights. Founded in 1899, long before most local and national bar associations admitted women, NAWL has historically served as an educational forum and an active voice for the concerns of women in the legal profession.
NAWL continues to support and advance the interests of women in and under the law. Today, members of NAWL represent all areas of legal expertise: public and private sectors; for-profit and not-for-profit; and large and small organizations. Through its programs and network, NAWL provides the tools for women in the profession to advance and prosper in their own careers while also enriching the profession. NAWL offers access to career and leadership development, continuing legal education, valuable networking opportunities, advocacy services, and community outreach opportunities.
