Office Administrator Heather Enders
The firm’s Office Administrator Heather Enders was recently recognized by the City of Hayward for her work with the Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force. Heather’s work was acknowledged during the City’s 37th annual awards dinner. Each year the event is held to honor the remarkable people who have volunteered their time for the good of the community. When Heather first moved to Hayward in 2011, her desire to protect the environment for current and future generations inspired her to seek related volunteering opportunities with the City. As a member of the Keep Hayward Green Task Force, Heather organized a city-wide garage sale to trade goods within the community and help citizens earn extra money. She also served on the City’s Community Services Commission in 2012 and joined the General Plan Update Task Force that same year. Heather’s work on the General Plan Update focused on increasing residents’ self-reliance and encouraging the City to protect natural resources, create community farms, eliminate pollution, and build a stronger local economy. Heather also serves as a member of the City’s Planning Commission.
Heather’s focus on finding greener ways to solve problems carries over into her work as part of the management team at Edlin Gallagher Huie + Blum. She is currently working on an initiative to establish the firm as a green business by selecting environmentally conscious vendors, reducing the amount of paper usage, and implementing a composting program.
