Kaveh Newmen is an associate who handles cannabis law, general litigation, and trucking and transportation matters.
Kaveh was admitted to practice law by the State Bar of California in 2021. He acquired professional experience as a legal intern at the Office of the Public Defender, the Geller Firm, and the Law Offices of Nicole Newmen. He also worked in Prague as an international legal intern with Advokatni Kancelar Kriz A Partneri, assisting in international business and intellectual property.
Kaveh’s work experience also extends beyond the law profession with roles that include inventing eMiranda, a criminal law Artificial Intelligence program and mobile application; CEO and founder of the philanthropy-based merchandising service Executive League; head coach with Beach Cities Youth Lacrosse; marketing manager with Subconcentrate Recordings, artist management position with Exlent in Los Angeles; and an internship in the office of Assembly Member Donald P. Wagner in California’s 68th district.
Kaveh earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2020, where he was a board member of the Criminal Law Society, the Immigration Law Society, the Middle Eastern Law Student Association, and served as an intern at the school’s Immigration Clinic. He earned his B.A. in criminology, law, and society from UC Irvine, graduating cum laude in June 2017. As an undergraduate, Kaveh was placed on the Dean’s Honor Roll and received a Scholar Athlete Award. He was also team captain and board member of the UC Irvine Men’s Lacrosse Team.
He is a first generation Iranian-American and speaks Farsi.
Outside of work, Kaveh enjoys spending time with family and friends, and is a Brazilian Juijitsu practitioner and coach, actively competing alongside his students.
