Biography
Erin Hutchins is an associate attorney specializing in business litigation, general litigation, and product liability. She first joined Edlin Gallagher Huie + Blum as a graduate legal assistant and law clerk. Prior to working at EGHB, Erin was a student associate in the Corporate Module of the UC Hastings Startup Legal Garage, a selective program that provides technology startup clients with representation. Previously, she worked as a student fellow at The Source on Healthcare Price & Competition, a San Francisco-based nonprofit that tracks healthcare cost and competition information in the United States; was a research assistant and head teacher’s assistant in the UC Hastings Legal Research & Writing department; and served as a volunteer with Legal Aid At Work and Homeless Legal Services.
Erin earned her JD in 2022 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law with a concentration in Business Law, graduating magna cum laude in the top 10 percent of her class. As a law student, she served as senior production editor and staff editor for Hastings Law Journal; was a competitor, coach, and board member of Moot Court; and was the recipient of Best Brief and CALI Award for Legal Research & Writing II. She is a member of the Order of the Coif, Thurston Society, and UC Hastings Pro Bono Society. Her 2022 article, “A Parallel Infodemic: Multifaceted Approaches to Online Public Health Mis- and Disinformation During the COVID-19 Pandemic,” was published in Volume 73, Issue 5 of Hastings Law Journal. Erin holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of British Columbia where she was named to the Gamma Sigma Alpha Academic Honor Society, worked as a notetaker and exam scribe for students with disabilities, and spent a semester studying abroad at the University of Amsterdam.
